I am New

Our community is many things - you are welcome to be a part of it.

It is open.

Questions are encouraged and cherished, but you may not find absolute answers.

It is a space of respect and tolerance.

We encourage everyone to consider the people around them, the people they meet - how they might be similar or different to themselves. At our services and meetings, we ask everyone to think about when to listen and when to speak, when to be silent and when to be loud.

It should be safe space where everyone is valued, everyone is welcome.

You can be yourself here.

It is honest.

That might mean you hear things that surprise or challenge you, that change your mind, that you disagree with, or that upset you. If that happens at our services, there are always people from our leadership team available to speak with you if that is helpful.

It is creative.

Some parts of our services might be different each week. Our gatherings are spaces to explore and try new things. We engage with creative arts, poetry, storytelling, music and art.

It is connected.

We aren’t just focused on our Sunday services. Our community is connected to the challenges and the beauty of the world around us, to the other days of our week, to our work, and the causes that drive us.

It is historic.

We are rooted in the ancient space of our building and engage with the legacies of the past for our building and city.

It is holy ground.

Our services are a space set aside to encounter God whoever that may be to you and whatever that may mean.

This community is many things - you are welcome to be a part of it. Welcome.

You will find a community of ordinary people on a journey together living out their faith connected to an ancient heritage in a modern and vibrant city, experiencing the joys and pressures of life today. We look to create spaces where we can connect with God and share that experience with others. We recognise that we are all on a journey of faith and that people find themselves on different paths along the way. It is our prayer that, together, we can discover more of God, the love of Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Our recently formed Parish of Holy Trinity and Saint Stephen’s, Bristol (also known as the benefice of Bristol Harbourside Churches) stretches from the edge of Castle Park to Cumberland Basin (east to west) and from Cumberland Road to Cornwallis Crescent and the Bear Pit (south to north).

Hopefully you will find what you need on the website but if you’d like to find out more please join us - see notifications on our front page for details of our current gatherings. If you would like one of our ministers to contact you please email info@saint-stephens.com.
